Behind the brand’s success is a meticulous search through Champagne’s Recoltants Manipulants and rare vineyards, bringing limited-production excellence from Europe’s historic wine regions to South African shores.

In the global luxury beverage landscape, today’s consumer no longer seeks only brand recognition, but authenticity, rarity and a profound connection to terroir. It is upon this precise market understanding that the vision of Caviar Le Champagne was brought into existence, with trend-led purple and gold bottles for the Brut Collection and a glossy black and gold bottle for the Blanc de Blancs range, raising the standard of luxury aesthetics.

An enterprise was born from the intuition and expertise of professionals determined to create an unprecedented commercial and cultural axis between Europe’s historic wine regions and Africa’s most exclusive markets.

The project’s origins lie in a rigorous three-year process of on-the-ground research. The goal was not to tap into the mass distribution of the large commercial maisons, but rather to penetrate the authentic fabric of the French Champagne region: that of the Recoltants Manipulants. These independent winemakers represent the artisanal aristocracy of Champagne, managing the entire production cycle from vineyard to bottle.

The result is a collection of limited editions that faithfully mirror individual terroirs, characterised by low-volume production and consequently exceptional value.

During this oenological scouting journey, the narrative and commercial breakthrough occurred in the dim light of historic underground cellars. There, sommeliers selected true rare pearls: elite cuvees and vintages left to age on their lees, some for more than eleven years. These products boast extraordinary structural complexity, with a mineral core and a fine perlage capable of ranking the cuvees at the highest level of international critical acclaim.

The Italian Masterpiece: St Erasmo Prosecco

Expanding the portfolio of rare sparkling wines, Caviar Champagne has introduced an equally extraordinary Italian narrative to the South African market: St Erasmo Prosecco. This is no ordinary Prosecco. It stands apart as the only Prosecco in the world produced entirely on an island.

Since the 1600s, this specific vineyard supplied the Doge of Venice, the powerful head of the oligarchy of Venice. Centuries later, the same prestigious tradition continued as Erasmo supplied the Belgian Royal House with its world-class Prosecco. With limited production of 30,000 bottles per annum, being able to acquire this luxury in Africa is a treat that should not be disregarded.

Cultivated from the finest heritage Glera grapes without a single drop of pesticide, St Erasmo is a testament to pure, uncompromised viticulture. The island’s unique microclimate, swept by coastal winds, infuses the wine with a distinctively savoury, saline flavour profile, capturing the crisp essence of the sea in every bottle.

It represents an elite class of Venetian sparkling wine, offering a sharp, sophisticated and marine-driven alternative for the global connoisseur.
